Water levels were excellent last season, from July onwards, and large numbers of salmon, grilse and seatrout were seen in the Club waters. They proved to be difficult to catch, however, and returns for salmon were down on last season - not because of an absence of fish! Seatrout continued to recover, with most fish being well-nourished, in the 2-4lb range, with the welcome reappearance of some finnock.

The trophies for largest salmon, largest fly-caught salmon and greatest aggregate weight of a salmon and a seatrout were all won by Boyd Catling, with a salmon of 7.05 kg and a seatrout of 0.91 kg. The seatrout trophy was shared between Margaret Robertson and Allan Bennie, with fish of 2.0 kg.

The Club made another small financial loss last season, due to increased charges for water and higher levies. At the AGM it was decided to raise subscriptions fpr Ordinary and Associate members by £10.00 - the first increase since 2005. We regret having to do this in the current economic situation, but the Club cannot continue to make a loss every year. Membership was up overall, and I would again ask members to encourage anyone they know who might wish to join. Membership packs are available from the Delicatessen in Comrie, or from me at the address given on the left.

We do not yet have many photographs suitable for display, as this website is a new venture. If you have any digital pictures which you think would be appropriate, please e-mail them to pat@ruchil.co.uk. Conventional photographs can be sent to Pat Silvey at the address on the left, where they will be scanned, and the originals returned to the owner.
